Since it was founded in 2007, Mandoline Hybride&#8217;s research, production and dissemination projects aim to (re)think the place and scope of art in society, from critical perspectives. Highlighting emerging artists and paying attention to the inclusion of diverse voices are priorities for the organization. Under the artistic direction of its founder, Priscilla Guy, the company is developing sustainable partnerships at both local and international levels. The organization&#8217;s values are embodied in five permanent programs:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Regards Hybrides<\/strong><br \/>\nFounded in 2012 by Priscilla Guy and Claudia H\u00e9bert, the project aims to foster the articulation, development and outreach of practices and discourses at the frontier of dance and cinema. With its web platform, collection, international biennial and services for artists and presenters, Regards Hybrides is the only project of its kind in Canada.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.regardshybrides.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Find out more &gt;&gt;&gt;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Salon58<\/strong><br \/>\nEstablished in 2018 by Priscilla Guy and Benoit Paradis in Marsoui, Gasp\u00e9sie, Salon58 is dedicated to hosting artists-in-residence and intimate concert programming. Focusing on artistic experimentation and proximity to the audience, the project encourages encounters on a human scale in rural and remote regions.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mandolinehybride.com\/en\/accueil\/salon58-2-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Find out more &gt;&gt;&gt;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>FURIES \u2014 contemporary dance festival<br \/>\n<\/strong>Under the artistic direction of Priscilla Guy, S\u00e9bastien Provencher, and Karla Etienne, FURIES is an intimate contemporary dance festival that has been showcasing powerful choreographic works in the Haute-Gasp\u00e9sie region since 2019. Its rich program features between 15 and 18 professional productions presented annually at around ten venues throughout the region.<\/p>\n<p>With its Parcours PRO, its international component, and its development initiatives for youth, emerging artists, and local communities, FURIES is a true hub for contemporary dance.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.furiesfestival.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Find out more &gt;&gt;&gt;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>L&#8217;Hybride &#8211; caf\u00e9 &amp; bookshop<\/strong><br \/>\nMore than just a caf\u00e9, L&#8217;Hybride functions as a hub that enables Mandoline Hybride to innovate, consolidate its initiatives, put them into action and share them.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mandolinehybride.com\/en\/?page_id=5362\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Find out more &gt;&gt;&gt;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hautes fr\u00e9quences \u2014 street dances et culture hip-hop<br \/>\n<\/strong>Hautes fr\u00e9quences is a one-day winter mini-festival dedicated to street dance and hip-hop culture, launched in 2021. Our curator and DJ Sovann Rochon-Prom Tep, also a choreographer and high-caliber breaker, presents artists from Quebec&#8217;s street dance scene and introduces the local audience to the fundamentals of hip-hop. Gender equality, the decolonization of practices and discourses, and the diversification of artistic programming are priorities for <\/span>Mandoline Hybride<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Within its various projects (Regards Hybrides, Salon58, FURIES, L&#8217;Hybride &#8211; caf\u00e9 &amp; bookshop), the presence of indigenous artists, racialized people, members of the queer, trans and\/or minority communities is envisaged as a norm, not an exception. These people present their work and address the audiences in performances, meetings, panels and discussions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Mandoline Hybride<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> also puts its values into action through shared curating, decolonial project promotion, self-education and knowledge-sharing with the cultural milieu. The organization is committed to supporting struggles against colonial domination, sexism, racism and discrimination, with concrete actions including targeted volunteer work, the dissemination of discourses linked to these struggles, the setting up of structuring projects to stimulate encounters between aboriginal and non-aboriginal artists, attention to the enhancement of aboriginal languages and traditions, and various forms of recognition of the territory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Intersectional feminist perspectives also guide the company&#8217;s choices in all its initiatives. <\/span>Mandoline Hybride adopts epicene language in its internal and external communications, favoring neutrality and, when necessary, using doublets and abbreviated doublets. Mandoline Hybride<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8216;s various artistic programs (Regards Hybride, Salon58, FURIES, L&#8217;Hybride &#8211; caf\u00e9 &amp; bookshop) are driven by a firm commitment to highlighting the work of women, trans and non-binary people.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Decolonization<\/strong><br \/>\nWe wish to acknowledge that our activities and gatherings take place on the unceded lands and waters of the Mi\u2019gmaq Nation. Holder of a doctorate in feminist and cinematic studies from the Universit\u00e9 de Lille (France), she has directed Mandoline Hybride since 2007, a banner under which she has initiated a number of dissemination projects (Regards Hybrides, Salon58, FURIES &#8211; contemporary dance festival, L&#8217;Hybride &#8211; caf\u00e9 &amp; bookshop). She currently sits on the boards of Studio 303, Orange Noy\u00e9e and the Corporation de d\u00e9veloppement de la Haute-Gasp\u00e9sie et des Chic-chocs.
