the success of the first edition of the hip-hop event last winter with Sweet Technique, Sensei H, Q052 and DJ Monsieur Nokturn, Mandoline Hybride and its partners are back to present you a 2nd edition, in person this time!<\/p>\n<p>This year, our guest curator and MC <strong>Sovann Rochon-Prom Tep<\/strong> has chosen two emblematic figures of hip-hop dance in Quebec to come and meet the citizens of the Haute-Gasp\u00e9sie with him: <strong>Natasha &#8220;Tash&#8221; Jean-Bart<\/strong> (now based in Las Vegas) and <strong>Nubian N\u00e9n\u00e9<\/strong> (now based in New York). Living legends of these ever-changing forms, the artists will develop their practice during a 10-day residency in Salon58, which will culminate in a d<strong>ay of activities at the Maison de la culture de Sainte-Anne-des-Monts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On <strong>January 7, 2022<\/strong>, young and less young are invited to two workshops for the general public, followed by a supercharged performance and a large collective jam in the company of <strong>DJ Monsieur Nokturn<\/strong> (Gasp\u00e9), during which the artists will showcase their talents through improvised performances and invite the public to join them in dancing, in the community spirit of urban dance! Her resilience and hard work stem from her Haitian roots, enabling her to expand into a producer, a creative director, a curator, a visual artist, and a teacher. She\u2019s a reliable asset to the innovative Montreal-based multidisciplinary collective: <em>FRGMNT<\/em>. Her mentors, some of the pioneers of the Street &amp; Club dance cultures, support, encourage, and inspire her to identify cultural references, to be involved and engaged in community, and through pedagogy help carry the weight of legacy. <em>Signature Verses Liberation<\/em> (2022), an ode to architecture, dance, and drawing, is her first visual art installation, and proof of harmony. A hybrid context, with an amalgam of texture, layers, and patterns examined and imagined by the artist. She&#8217;s the creator of <em>Waack Bazaar<\/em>, <em>The Essence Experience<\/em>, <em>Glasses &amp; Laces,<\/em> and <em>A Lady in The House Dance Company<\/em>. Her credits as a performer and choreographer have taken her to well-respected stages, including Cirque Du Soleil\u2019s \u201cThe Beatles LOVE\u201d as a lead character and rehearsal Locking\/Hip Hop coach\/generalist. She is currently performing with the Canadian troupe Bboyizm Dance Company. Her expertise has garnered her numerous international positions as a juror for elite dance competitions. She also gives workshops and lectures internationally. In addition, she uses her voice to assist and inspire artists from all walks of life to find their purpose. A wife, mother of four beautiful children, and Nana to five lively grandchildren, Natasha divides her time between her home: Las Vegas, her hometown, Canada, and the rest of the world. While electronic diversity is becoming more and more prevalent each year on the nightlife scene, Mr. Nokturn, for hist part, prioritizes ancient art. By mixing classical melodies and underground laments, the artist delivers performances that are both classical and spectacular. Going back to the source, strengthening our roots, in order to unleash creativity.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>House Like a Nubian avec Nubian N\u00e9n\u00e9<\/strong><\/span><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/em>House Like a Nubian is a house dance workshop based on learning and understanding the basic steps and fundamentals, while providing practice keys to improve one&#8217;s house dance technique. The focus is on freestyling and finding tools to unleash your own style, playing with variations, repeating, applying and pushing physicality. House dance stems from Black underground club culture, so sharing music and talking about important stories and livelihoods is paramount.
