Je garde mes lunettes fumées près de moi
A collection produced as part of the 3rd edition of the Salon58 Feminist Writing Retreat
Sheltered by the Marsoui Mountains, to the soothing rhythm of the river, on the banks of the St. Lawrence, 20 collaborators gathered in the spring of 2023 to exchange ideas, write, and develop new perspectives at three unique locations: Salon58, the Marsoui Recreation Center, and L’Hybride – café & bookstore.
The pillars of this collective experience and the driving forces behind the writing and compilation of these rich and diverse texts were the diversity of perspectives, kindness, and mutual respect. In a spirit of inclusion and openness, each person contributed to the collection by blending their vision with that of others to foster a diversity that is genuinely embodied. The fight against forms of discrimination such as racism, Islamophobia, and transphobia, as well as all other intersectional struggles, were at the heart of the Retreat and the collection. The texts will spark deep or humorous reflections and bring both strength and lightness to all who read them.
