The return of supported residences at Salon58

After a two-year hiatus, Salon58 is relaunching its supported artist residencies in a new format in 2025-2026!

Thanks to the additional funding granted to our organization by the CALQ in the summer of 2025, we are able to resume this part of our mandate to promote research and creation in the professional arts community.

From December 2025 to June 2026, under the artistic direction of Priscilla Guy, Salon58 will support five projects led by artists from Montreal, Saint-Clément, Rimouski, and La Martre who work in the fields of dance, performance, music, and writing.

The format of these residencies aims to support artists with a turnkey package that includes a professional fee, access to creative spaces tailored to the needs of the project, accommodation, and a financial contribution for meals and transportation. During these residencies, artists will also be able to benefit from a new co-development initiative set up by Mandoline Hybride, involving local artists who make themselves available to come and discuss or discover an excerpt of the work, in a spirit of emulation and collegiality.

We firmly believe in the importance of supporting research and creation in the arts outside of the production imperatives that weigh heavily on our communities, particularly in the current unstable economic climate. It is with great determination that we unveil today this program that is so dear to our hearts, featuring artists and projects whose passion is contagious!
