Watch Kim-Sanh Châu’s short film «MIDLAND»

FURIES in COVID-19 mode

The 2nd edition of FURIES – contemporary dance festival was to be held in Marsoui from July 23 to 26. Although the COVID-19 pandemic led to the postponement of all festival activities to the summer of 2021, we are pleased to present the short film MIDLAND by artist Kim-Sanh Châu, which was to be screened under the stars at the opening event! The film, shot partly during her residency in Marsoui, is available for free viewing from now until August 3.

Kim-Sanh Châu’s Marsoui residency : a discussion about dance and territory

You missed the discussion hosted by Priscilla Guy on July 23? It is available right here!

Filmed partly during Kim-Sanh Châu’s artistic residency in Marsoui at Salon58 in October 2019, MIDLAND can be experienced as an incursion into different raw landscapes. Whether permanent or ephemeral installations, natural constructions or human interventions, the places depicted in MIDLAND exude a poetry without artifice. The artist captures the images with a look that is both personal and modest, curious and passive. The encounter with the landscape is punctuated by impromptu movements and human encounter too.
