Marsoui, September 15, 2022 – Salon58 launches its new artistic residency program, under the sign of encounter and multidisciplinarity! Twenty-one artists will benefit from a funded residency with a fee, lodging, transportation and meals provided. These artists will meet the local public during the unmissable Salon58 evenings that will take place from October 2022 to May 2023!

After having welcomed nearly 70 artists since its founding in 2018, Salon58 is back in force with its 4th program that will introduce the public of the Haute-Gaspésie to another series of artists with complex and touching approaches. Join us on Saturday, October 1st for the opening of the new season with the three artists who will launch the festivities!

Guest artist-curator, renewed collaborations and new partnerships
For the first time this year, Mandoline Hybride’s guest artist-curator Karla Etienne worked with artistic director Priscilla Guy on the selection of artists. Together, their universes feed and confront each other, giving rise to beautiful discoveries! Multiple partners join the adventure to ensure a great diversity at all levels of programming. For the year 2022-2023, Salon58 is proud to be associated with eight organizations that share its values, to jointly offer precious time for creation and reflection to the selected artists: Diffusion Hector-Charland, CÉGEP de Matane, La Chapelle Scènes Contemporaines, BIGICO, Parbleux, Black Wealth Media, La Rotonde and the FTA – Festival TransAmériques. Thanks to the support program of the Réseau de résidences de La danse sur les routes du Québec, three dance artists will also offer workshops in the region’s schools during their visit to Marsoui, while developing their personal approach. In addition to its precious residency partners, Salon58 would also like to thank its indispensable financial partners: the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
